I will need ideally drums, bass, guitar and keyboards, 1-2 vocals. Other instruments would be very welcome, I'm open to non-traditional instrumentation! I can help with rhythm, notes, harmony and melody for all instruments - but I can only help with technical details for drums and a bit for bass.

You don't need to be a virtuoso on your instrument, but it won't be for complete beginners. The ability to improvise/play solos is a big plus, but not necessary. It would be nice to be able to play from recordings, but I'll prepare some sheet music or tabs - we'll tailor it to your needs.

The classic sounds of the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Do you love the music of Chuck Berry and the unforgettable tunes from the Pulp Fiction soundtrack? This is the rock’n’roll band you were waiting for! Guitar, piano, bass, drums, saxophone and vocals wanted. Musicians should be able to read chord charts and learn simple melodies by ear. Some basic understanding of the blues is required. Reading notes is an advantage but not obligatory.

Do you like people? Do you deal with relationships in your life? Do you believe in love? American soul band Thee Sacred Souls do, and so do I. We'll be spreading their word in the next wave. It will be sweet, soothing, down tempo soul from Southern California, paying homage to the 70's RnB vibe.

Our band is a classic holy foursome of drums, bass, guitar and keyboards. The story will of course be told by the lead singer and 2-3 vocalists. We'll be spiced up with brass instruments, ideally trumpet, saxophone and trombone, but there are no limits to the imagination.

Do you want some offbeat? Okay. There won't be some. There'll be plenty!

We'll be covering Jamaican ska from the '60s. It is possible that we will stray into reggae as well, because these styles are closely related. If you're a loyal fan of The Skatalites, Bob Marley & The Wailers or Don Drummond's band, I'm looking for you!

It would be nice to be able to read music (especially horns), but it's not a requirement. If you can't play music, we'll learn tunes from the recordings. If you play a harmonic instrument, you should be able to recognize at least the basic harmonic markings.

I can handle drums, percussion, bass, piano and a bit of accordion. I can't play guitar or brass, but we'll get it together somehow!

I will gladly welcome in my band: piano, bass/ double bass, electric guitar, accordion, drums, percussion, horns (saxophones, trumpets, trombones, french horns, etc.). Possibly also a singer (must have some experience=phrasing from recordings and at least a bit of a feel for offbeats).

Here's a little taste of what's to come:

Ps: Offbeat=the second eighth note of two eighth notes, but also the second and fourth sixteenth notes of four sixteenth notes. I hope I've given you an idea 😃 !

Designed for children 2-3 years with a parent.

Do you like adventure? And what would you say to adventurous travel through the world of music? Již v lednu vyrazíme na naší hudební zážitkovou cestu a  zveme se k nám připojit mladé milovníky hudby a srandy a samozřejmě i jejich rodiče! 

We'll sing, dance, play and fool around. We'll learn about a rainbow of colourful sounds, create a joyful orchestra, run with cheetahs on the savannah, look under the sea with stingrays and whales, race with bats in flight and have lots more fun. 

Rhythm, tones, timbres, tempos will accompany us playfully on our travels.

Poli was born in Russia into a family of professional musicians (her father a prominent composer, her mother a music teacher). She grew up surrounded by music, musical friends and musical experiences. After graduating from music school, she attended the conservatory where she studied piano, musicology, conducting, composition, choral singing and teaching. Within two years she had an internship at a music school where she worked mostly with preschoolers. 

She is a mother of two children (2 and 4 years old) and knows first hand what communication and musical play with little ones means. She would love to try her luck with a slightly larger group of young enthusiastic musicians!

This is gonna be smaller vocal group  (5-7 peeps)

In order to join this group you have to have solid experience singing in a choir and to be able to read sheet music without a problem. 

You’ll be singing together with Janek & Géraldine, learning rather juicy SATB arrangements and trying to make them sound as good as possible. Meaning, the material has to be learned quickly (including preparation at home) in order to work on the details together until the heads are smoking 🙂 The selection of music is most probably not classical music (texts in english). Repertoire is not set in stone yet. 

Not that we like doing it, but in case there are too many people signed up the selection will be up to the choir leaders. You might be contacted to join an audition if we wouldn’t already know you 🙂

We would start 15.1.2025 @ 18h, its a 1 hour class and you’ll be having it 9 times.

Designed for everyone who wants to sing!

The next wave will start with our favorite tunes from Coldplay and hey – we will finally be writing our own arrangements for you!
This wave is supposed to be easier, so you don’t have to bring experience in reading music. We will hand you out sheet music, yes, but we try to keep it simpler and shorter.

The next wave will start Wednesday 15.1.2025 at 19h and contains 9 double hour sessions with an extra catch up one in the end. This only happens if one regular lesson will get cancelled! So make sure you reserve the Wednesday in the 10th week as well, just in case.
In the end we most likely will perform our tunes on the „Kohutek Show Off“ mid-end of March. Date not confirmed.

If you are a kid between 3-6 years old and you are tired of your parents telling you what not to do and they don’t notice your talent and overlook your creative spark - I think this course is for you.

We will focus on playing, listening, rhythms, dynamics, leading and following each other musically and creating. Most important is to have fun.

In the end of the course we might plan a tour in your neighbourhood. Stay out of tune, see you there!

The lesson is designed for 6-8 children. In case we can form 2 groups.

About Chris:
My name is Christoffer Strandh and I am from Sigtuna near Stockholm,Sweden. When I was little I started out as a trumpet player and studied at different music schools. As a teenager I picked up the bass after the recommendation from my father who was at that time teaching young guitarists and rock groups. I grew up with a lot of guitar music around me, but my interest of all sorts of music lead me for example to be part of a samba group for many years. I love jazz and improvising. I also play guitar, piano and drums. I’ve been composing and recording my own songs for many years as Chris Beach. I sing mostly in Swedish but sometimes I sing in English. I used to work as a preschool teacher for 10 years, I love working with kids, but I have taken a break from it because the music is such a big passion for me.

Here in Brno I play with artists like Prune, Martina Trchová, Martin Kyšperský and Mosskin. I go to jam sessions and join the music scene of Brno.

We will again play a stew of Balkan brass band music spiced with a dash of Eastern tradition.

It is advisable to know the notes (melodic instruments) and the chord symbols (harmonic instruments). The second option ability to learn the melodies and rhythms from recordings by ear. So it is best if the player has at least one of these skills.

I can handle wind instruments and melodic ones too. But only phrasing, feel and rhythm. I can't play the reeds and I can't play the accordion. I could give some advice with drums too.

Instruments and cast: anything that plays loud: trumpet, sax, drums (percussion), bass, accordion, vocals (optional), clarinet, violin, cello, double bass, even the dulcimer will do. If a tuba would appear, I would cry with happiness! If we have a hidden talent for exotic wind instruments like the dodok, kabagayda or various eastern pipes, I'll take it!
