Ond\u0159ej Z\u00e1me\u010dn\u00edk and Michal Gromi\u0159\u00edk are launching a band where jazz musicians and jam session enthusiasts can come together \u2013 on the playing field of Pat Metheny\u2019s sophisticated music. The band is open to less experienced players as well. The goal is to form a large band of 10\u201315 people. It\u2019s going to be a challenge!<\/p>

Buty Are Back! Once again, we\u2019ll explore the work of Radek Pastr\u0148\u00e1k and the legendary Ostrava band Buty.<\/span><\/p>

It would be helpful to be able to read sheet music and know at least the basic chords. However, this isn\u2019t a requirement. Our goal will be to learn the songs by heart.<\/span><\/p>

I\u2019ll take on any challenge\u2014I\u2019m not afraid of a challenge.\ud83c\udfb5<\/span><\/p>

To join the band, you must know the meaning of the word \"buty.\" I recommend\u00a0<\/span>Ostravsky slovnik<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>

Singers, go for it! I\u2019m happy to accept more singers. The more voices, the more Buty.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The repertoire will depend on the final lineup of our band.<\/span><\/p>

This time, we\u2019re setting sail from an African port out onto the open sea! Sea shanties will guide us through storms and calm waters, to ports teeming with drunken sailors, broken hearts, and rum-soaked nights.<\/div>
Who knows, maybe we\u2019ll see the Flying Dutchman or learn the songs of the legendary sirens. One thing is certain, though: it\u2019s going to be loud, wild, and a hell of a lot of fun.<\/div>

  • \u2026 learn how to really give it some balls?<\/li><\/ul>
    If you answered \u201cyes\u201d to at least half of these questions, Koh\u00fatkovj\u00e1nek is the right choice for you. The goal is not to rely on sheet music, but to learn to play songs as closely as possible to how they are played in their respective regions. The foundation will certainly be the holy trinity\u2014\u010dard\u00e1\u0161, verbu\u0148k, and t\u00e1hlice\u2014but we can also focus on specific regions, learn how to play particular dances, or explore Slovakia.<\/div>
    The basic requirements are, first and foremost, to be able to play your instrument, play a simple melody by ear, read chord symbols for accompaniment (don\u2019t worry, you definitely won\u2019t see any #9 add b13 here), and ideally, to be able to sing while playing\u2014but we can work on all of these skills during the course.<\/div><\/div>

    Recommended instruments:<\/b><\/div>
    • violin<\/li>
    • viola (or violin, provided that chords are played on the lower strings)<\/li>
    • double bass<\/li>
    • cimbalom<\/li>
    • clarinet \/ flute<\/li>
    • You could also use a cello, accordion, harmonica, trumpet, or various folk whistles\u2014but we would have to adapt the repertoire accordingly<\/li><\/ul><\/div>
